About the Apartments

Q1. How many apartments will be available?
A: Current plans include four workforce-oriented rental apartments. Additional details will be shared as construction progresses.

Q2. What types of apartments will be available?
A: The plans allow for one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Information regarding apartment sizes and layouts will be shared prior to leasing.

Q3. Will parking be available?
A: Yes. Parking will be available in the on-site parking lot for residents.

Q4. Is laundry available in the apartments?
A: Yes. Each apartment will include in-unit laundry.

Q5. Are there shared or common spaces in the building?
A: No. The building does not include shared common gathering areas. Hallways and mailbox area will be common to all tenants.

Q6. Will there be bicycle storage or other transportation amenities?
A: Bicycle storage and additional transportation amenities are not planned for this property.

Rent and Lease Information

Q7. What will the rent be?
A: Rent levels have not yet been finalized. Rents will be set at attainable levels for working households while supporting the long-term sustainability of the property.

Q8. What utilities will be included in the rent?
A: Tenants will be responsible for gas and electric. Utility arrangements for water are still being finalized. Garbage handling is part of the rent.

Q9. Is a security deposit required?
A: A security deposit is required at the time of lease signing. Security deposit is equal to one month rent.

Q10. What are the lease terms?
A: Lease terms will follow a standard residential lease, with a one-year initial term.

Application and Eligibility

Q11. What is the application process?
A: Applicants will complete a rental application and provide documentation such as income verification, employment information, and rental history.

Q12. How will tenants be selected?
A: Applicants will go through a standard screening process that typically includes income verification, employment verification, rental history review and background screening.

Q13. Do applicants need to work in Walworth County?
A: Consideration will be given to applicants who work in Walworth County. Additional renter eligibility requirements will be announced before applications open.

Q14. Will Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) be accepted?
A: Applicants must meet renter eligibility requirements established by the Housing Authority, which will include standard screening criteria.

Q15. Will there be a waiting list?
A: Information about waiting lists or application procedures will be shared once leasing details are finalized.

Building Policies

Q16. Are pets allowed?
A: No pets are allowed with the exception of service dogs.

Q17. Is the building non-smoking?
A: Yes. The building will be non-smoking.

Q18. Will renters’ insurance be required?
A: Renter’s insurance is encouraged by not required.

Q19. Is there a limit on how many people can live in an apartment?
A: Occupancy limits will be based on the number of bedrooms in each apartment and applicable housing guidelines. Final occupancy standards will be determined by the Walworth County Housing Authority.
