Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome!
Community volunteers are the heart and backbone of our organization. Time and time again, our community has demonstrated its generosity through countless hours of volunteering. Through this collective effort, 13 families have been able to move into their very own homes – Thank You Volunteers!
Signing up to volunteer with Habitat is easy! Contact the Walworth County affiliate at (262-949-0542) or signup online below and a representative from the Walworth affiliate will contact you for registration and scheduling. Check out our volunteer listings if you need ideas on how you’d best like to help!
Immediate non-construction opportunities include: special event managers, grant writers, website manager, newsletter editor, and board of directors and committee chair people.
Please complete our survey below and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Whether you are an experienced carpenter or have never picked up a hammer, Habitat has a place for you to give back to your community! Habitat affiliates are always on the lookout for help with making meals, providing office support, working at events, speaking to groups, being our contact at your church or organization, doing design work, helping on a committee or, of course, helping us build.
Construction Volunteers
Volunteers assist with various construction projects on the build site. Under the watchful guidance of Crew Leaders, volunteers assist with framing, siding, roofing, or whatever the task for the day includes. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels on our worksites; no experience is necessary. Just be open to learning and trying something new! Most of all, be willing to have fun with the other volunteers and homeowners!
Volunteers should arrive at 7:45 a.m. Work begins at 8 a.m., with a lunch break at noon. The work day ends at 3:30 p.m. All of your tools and materials will be provided for you.
We typically work every Saturday from 8 am to 3:30 pm during the Build Season. The specific weekdays that we work vary, depending on the needs and resources of the specific build projects. To look for current volunteer opportunities, check out our volunteer opportunity calendar.
Volunteer one day or as often as your schedule allows.
If you prefer to use your own tools, make sure they’re marked with your name.
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE.
Lunch Provider
When we feed our volunteers, they will come back—often!
If you or your group would like to provide lunch service for a build day, please call the office at 262-949-0542 for details.
Extra food items may be used for an afternoon snack, given to the homeowner family, or donated to one of Walworth County’s local shelters or food pantries.
Individuals
Check out our volunteer opportunity calendar to see if we have any current opportunities that fit in your schedule.
Groups
Group build days are a great learning and teambuilding opportunity. Visit our Group Build Day section for more information.
Site Support Volunteers
Site support volunteers are the host/hostess of the work site. Site support tasks include helping with registration, paperwork, lunch set up, running errands and clean-up. Site support volunteers are needed for each workday at each construction site. Please contact Larry at 262-949-0542 or email him for more information.
Our next project in Pell Lake will begin in the coming months. We look forward to introducing you to our partner family as we begin construction on House #13. It’s been a long, cold winter, but the warmth and sunshine of spring is getting us excited. We look forward to sharing our 21st year with you.
