Whitewater – Women Build
The Whitewater project delivers four workforce housing residences across two twin homes, each offering 1,520 square feet of living space on two stories with a basement. Each residence includes three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.
Throughout construction, Habitat will host designated Women Build Days—special volunteer opportunities that create space for women to build together, learn hands-on construction skills, and contribute directly to affordable housing in the local community. Women can participate individually or as part of an organized team, and no prior construction experience is required.
Elkhorn Workforce Housing Apartments
The Elkhorn Workforce Apartments at 422 N. Wisconsin Street redevelops an existing building into four attainable rental units for working individuals and families in Walworth County — those who earn too much to qualify for traditional housing assistance but still find market-rate rents out of reach. The project is owned by the Walworth County Housing Authority and developed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County. The second floor delivers two one-bedroom, one two-bedroom, and one three-bedroom apartment, each with in-unit laundry and on-site parking. Construction began in Q1 2026, with occupancy targeted for late summer/early fall 2026. This is the first of several workforce housing initiatives planned across Walworth County, with three additional developments anticipated in 2026–2027.
