Habitat for Humanity in Walworth County recently completed two builds in the village of Bloomfield and is now beginning the process of selecting a family for another in Walworth County.

“Habitat/Walworth is anxious to continue our mission of providing affordable homes to qualified Walworth residents. We have recently completed two homes in Pell Lake, and have been successful at navigating inflating contruction costs…though we need to generate more donations. Our team is eager to build another in either the Town of Walworth or Whitewater,” says Larry Green, Executive Director.

Applications for a new home in Walworth County are now open. The forms are available on the Habitat/Walworth website at habitatwalworth.org, or by caling the info line at 262-949-0542.

Habitat/Walworth continues to seek applications for it’s A BRUSH WITH KINDNESS PROGRAM, especially directed at exterior and landscaping home repairs. Again, forms are available on the website or through the info line.

The Family Selection Committee (a committee that is part of Habitat in Walworth County) will begin interviewing applicants and making home visits to narrow down the selection in January 2023.

Given that we are planning a build in 2023, there will be plenty of opportunities for volunteers to be involved in the process from start to finish. Volunteers of every skill are welcome.

If you’re interested in volunteering, check out the skills survey on our website: https://habitatwalworth.org/skills-survey/ or call: 262-949-0542.
